Demosposing Numbers

 Today we practiced decomposing numbers.

 The task was to show 2 different ways of making 2.

We talked about how does it look like. The grouping has to be different not the shape of the circle

This is the same grouping on both sides.      This is an excellent demonstration

                                                                             2 in one group  equal 2   

                                                                  1 in one group and 1 in one group makes a 2                                                                

 Ask me to use the Math Vocabulary and explain

 point to the one which is correct.

2 ways look the same as in both there is one in each group.

 Ask me to point to my work and explain my thinking.

 By changing the shape of the outline does not make it a different decomposing group. It will still be 3 marbles in one group.
