I sent home a parent brochure, the EYE-TA is a developmental screening tool. A child’s development in these 5 areas is linked to their success in learning in Kindergarten and beyond. The information gathered will help us determine areas to focus on with your child.”
Begin with the child’s areas of strength (green results and all other observations).
For domains with yellow and red results, explain: “These are areas in which I will be focusing my
instruction and providing extra supports for your child and other children in the classroom.
Please read the letters sent home about the process and if you have any questions. Please feel free to call or email me. Thanks!
Today we read, and talked about what makes me SPECIAL and UNIQUE.
Ask me to look at the pictures of the book and explain the story
We sang a few songs.
Click on this picture and sing this song with me.
today we also learnt another word for Fall is Autumn.
Click on this picture and watch it with me.
We went outside observing the seasonal changes and read,
. What was happening?
After reading the book we went out and collected leaves and ha fun jumping in Fall leaves. Hunter W. said: " I found a smooth rock."
We collected some leaves to explore.
Discovering Nature! Using one of our 5 senses we felt the trunk of the tree.
Tell me what did it feel like?
rough or smooth. How do I know? While we looking doing this we took the opportunity to talk about skin colours and how we are different and special.
Hunter W. shared that he found a bird and helped the bird in the morning. What a mindful thing to do. Well done Hunter! Thank you for looking after nature.
We don't have a picture of the bird but he said a small bird.
We hope Hunter can tell us which bird did he help. We also found some rocks and we counted them. How many can you count? Ask me about my observations...
We also did a Math problem
3 rocks + 3 rocks =
By looking at these 6 rocks tell me if these rocks are smooth or rough
We also had an awesome lesson with Mr. Pivarnyik
Thank you Mr. Pivarnyik This is what tippy toes look like.
Enjoy our learning!
Thanks,
Mrs. Malik
