Today when we were exploring at the Discovery Tables we talked about the word "Pair". Ask me what it means. 

To understand the word we did a little activity and had lots of fun. 

We started talking about making pairs while we were playing the memory game.

To explain the concept Keith and Hamza offered to share their socks.

We talked about when we have two            Is this a pair? if not explain why?

items it is a pair. The pair also means

it has to be the same.  All this conversation led us to read

this book!

We changed our lesson because the conversation was so rich that we decided to learn and understand some new vocabulary being used in our room.

Hunter W. " I made a toothbrush. 

Hunter W. " I made a city  and a moving door, type of wing and you could see through it.

We talked about what does it mean when we say see through. We also learnt a scientific name for it- transparent. We also looked at different items that were not transparent to compare it with the wing.

Look at all these pictures and point to items that are transparent and why?
